About Ekkon
Ekkon is a daily number puzzle built for the phone. The board starts empty and nothing is given away. Every number from 1 to the board size appears once in each row and each column, but the only way to learn anything is to send an echo: a square answers with how many of its neighbours are higher than the square itself. It never reveals its own number. Fewer echoes means a better score, and the score is measured against par — the number of echoes good play needs. The signal lamp under the board tells you how many solutions still fit the echoes you have bought, so you always know whether you are deducing or guessing. That is the difference from Sudoku: here you are not hunting for the square with the fewest options, but for the echo that says the most. Today's board is the same for everyone, and you get three attempts. No sign-up, no account — everything you play stays in your own browser.
